Why a Tor Watch link sometimes changes

A changed address is not automatically suspicious, but it always deserves a check.

  • 4 parts
  • Checked

1Key rotation

If a service replaces its keys, its onion address changes too.

2Capacity

New addresses are sometimes added during heavy traffic or attacks.

3How real changes look

Genuine changes usually come with an announcement from a source that has published the old address before.

4Your move

Update your bookmark only after the new Tor Watch link is confirmed, and keep a note of the old one.
